SafeHarbor Program (Domestic Violence Shelter Services)
Deliver Trauma-Informed Care Where Safety Begins
Join Stronger Oregon’s SafeHarbor Program—a specialized initiative bringing outpatient mental health services directly into domestic violence shelters and confidential safe housing environments.
This is not traditional outpatient care.
This is purpose-driven, trauma-informed work delivered at the most critical moment in a person’s life.
Our program mission is simple:
Provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time—without unnecessary barriers.
Who You’ll Serve
You will support individuals and families who are:
Residing in domestic violence shelters or safe housing
Survivors of intimate partner violence, family violence, or coercive control
Navigating trauma, displacement, and major life transitions
Many clients present with:
PTSD and acute trauma symptoms
Anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation
Hypervigilance and safety concerns
Loss of support systems and instability
Complex family dynamics involving children
These are individuals in safe environments—but still in crisis.
Your role is to help them begin real healing and recovery.
Where You’ll Work
Services are delivered directly within:
Domestic violence shelters
Confidential safe houses
Transitional and emergency housing programs
By embedding care onsite, you eliminate barriers and provide safe, discreet, and immediate access to treatment.
What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services, including:
Individual therapy
Family therapy and caregiver support
Crisis intervention and stabilization
Safety planning alongside shelter staff
Case management and resource navigation
Coordination with legal, medical, and advocacy partners
This is integrated, real-world care—not siloed therapy.
Why This Role Matters
This is some of the highest-impact work in mental health.
You will:
Help survivors stabilize during crisis
Support individuals in regaining autonomy and control
Treat trauma at the point of safety—not months later
Play a direct role in breaking cycles of violence and instability
You are not just providing therapy—you are helping people rebuild their lives.

Extra $60 bonuses per 60 minute billable service beyond 23 per week. (i.e. the 24th 60-minute billable service rendered in a week earns you an extra $60 bonus)
Pay period income estimations:
$3,860 before deductions (26 earned billable service hours a week amounting to 6 bonuses).
$4,220 before deductions (29 earned billable service hours a week amounting to 12 bonuses).
$3,500 before deductions (23 earned billable service hours a week amounting to 0 bonuses).
