I have over 25 years experience in working with diverse groups of people, all with varying life challenges, ranging in age from 4 years and up.  I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University in 2013.  As a social worker I have worked in a variety of social work settings: hospice, corrections/forensic, oncology, primary and secondary school settings with children, substance abuse education and treatment, community mental health, and a children's advocacy center.  I have experience in substance abuse recovery, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, adjustment/transitional issues, grief & anticipatory grief, as well as trauma.

I use an Integrative and holistic approach to therapy that may include the use of: Mindfulness Training, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, Trauma-informed care, Moral Recognition Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, and (currently training in) EMDR.

Experience, Connection, Non-judgment, Trust, and Willingness, are just a few of the cornerstones to growth.  Together we can explore the obstacles and challenges that keep you from healing, growing, and achieving the life you desire.  I currently work with clients 19 years of age and older.

"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit."

- E.E. Cummings

Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.”

As a therapist and a natural listener, I have had the great privilege of witnessing amazing generosity and courage in others. Over the past 20 years I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient therapy, psychiatric inpatient hospitals, day treatment hospitals, and medical facilities. In each of these places I have been inspired by the resilience and wisdom of clients taking deliberate steps toward mending their broken hearts, toward finding a path they want to walk down, and toward repairing their relationships with themselves and others. I work from a strength-based, client-centered point of view. I utilize active listening to understand your concerns, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to explore distorted beliefs and their effects on your life, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for healing trauma and disruptive life patterns, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to reduce agitation and access your natural coping skills, and a variety of other modalities to help you heal wounds and live your best life.

Another favorite quote:

“You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees

for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves.”
