I have over 10 years experience working in residential and community settings providing services to youth and their families. I draw from many modalities and adjust based on my client’s needs.

I received my Masters degree in Clinical Counseling from George Fox University in 2013. This new career path came after I had been a foster parent for several years. I have much experience with youth in foster care and their caregivers. I am certified Post Adoption and FosterCare therapist with ORPARC which has given me a strong foundation when working with this population. I also really enjoy working towards reunification goals both with the biological family and the youth as they navigate emotions especially after a long periods in care.

For younger children, I believe their language is play so will often incorporate play therapy techniques in sessions. Parent participation is strongly recommended as young people often struggle with big emotions and don’t know how to express themselves. The best way for me to teach them and incorporate better coping strategies is for them to practice at home as well.

For tweens, teens and young adults I believe developing their voice and autonomy is very important. We will navigate treatment planning and therapy goals collaboratively with parental involvement as necessary. I rely strongly on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT) for this age believing the positive effects in learning distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and mindfulness skills will benefit everyone. DBT is especially effective when treating youth experiencing suicidal ideations or self harm.

I will work with any diagnosis including but not limited to Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I am accepting of all cultures, sexual and gender orientations. I look forward to getting to know you and help you be your best self!

Dealing with challenges and stressors is an unavoidable part of our human experience, and it can certainly leave an unwanted impact in our life. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I aim to look at the whole person, understanding how all the aspects of our lives come together to impact our minds and bodies. Healing happens when all parts of the person are aligned and integrated.

I take a holistic, strengths-based approach to therapy, working with clients to improve distress tolerance and emotion regulation, heal their nervous system, and strengthen core beliefs and values. I am passionate about working with females; in adolescence, young adulthood, and into their 30s. My therapeutic orientation draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and somatic-based practices.

My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to express what is on their minds, learn beneficial coping skills, understand the mind-body connection, and build a sense of connection with themselves and others.

“When you least expect it, Nature has cunning ways of finding our weakest spot…Right now you may not want to feel anything. Perhaps you never wished to feel anything…But feel something you obviously did. …If there is pain, nurse it. And if there is a flame, don’t snuff it out. Don’t be brutal with it. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster…But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything ― what a waste!” - André Aciman

Do you feel disconnected & detached? Are you struggling to find peace & security with yourself or in your relationships? Our minds & bodies are interdependent- so reliant on one another that they often try to protect themselves by splitting apart or shutting down. Pain, loss, & stress are unavoidable & it can be so tempting to numb ourselves to try to minimize their impact. Inevitably, we numb the good along with the bad.

As a Master in Social Work and pre-licensed clinician I’ve worked with clients of all ages and circumstances, but have dedicated much of my personal study over the years to sex and relationship dynamics. In my private practice, I specialized in working with clients who are in relationship transitions. Some may be seeking conscious uncoupling, navigating painful breakups, identifying and understanding patterns in romantic or platonic relationships, shifting from monogamy into polyamory or other partnership structures, or working to better understand their own bodies when it comes to sex, sexuality, and gender experiences alone and with peers or partners.

Whether you have a specific goal in mind, need someone to offer blanket support, or seek to learn and practice new skills, I can incorporate interventions from a variety of modalities, including compassion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, art therapy, EFT-tapping, attachment-based therapy, Gestalt, eclectic therapy, somatic therapy, and mindfulness & guided meditation. We all need something different to tap into our unique healing and growth. Vulnerability is uncomfortable at best but so very necessary, & I would be honored to accompany you on a journey to find your way to face these challenges with confidence, strength, grace, & resilience.

I am happy you’re here, & I can’t wait to meet you!

My practice is person-centered, which means it is anti-capitalist and liberationist: for fat bodies, for LGBTQIA+ bodies, for disabled bodies, and for black and brown bodies first and foremost.

Hello! My approach to services is strengths-based and person centered. I truly believe that individuals are the experts in their own lives. My goal is to help you identify where you are struggling and walk alongside you as you learn new skills and discover your resilience and strengths. I believe in empowering people to help themselves by building confidence in their abilities and discovering all the wonderful things they are capable of.

I have experience working with youth and their families in both inpatient residential settings and outpatient community settings. I specialize in trauma-focused care in children and adolescents. Much of my experience has been working with individuals who have experienced trafficking, as well as youth who have run from home or are experiencing homelessness. I have also worked with BIPOC youth and those who identify with the LGBTQIA+ community. My experience also includes extensive group therapy work for a multitude of concerns including; anger management, skills for managing anxiety and depression, mindfulness, self-control, poor self-esteem and body issues, and navigating trauma symptoms.

I have had specific training conducting trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy both in person and via telehealth. My training and experience also includes incorporating holistic approaches to care and working through inter-generational and systemic trauma. I have had training in family therapy approaches and believe in creating a space for families to come together and learn to positively communicate so that they may self-create safe, secure, and healthy family systems. I also believe that one size does not fit all and I enjoy being able to incorporate things like art, movement, and music into my practice.

I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey to self-discovery!

Welcome, my name is Sydni and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked within the mental health field in some capacity since 2012. I obtained a bachelor's degree at Southern Oregon University in criminal justice and went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work at Portland State University, immersing myself in the clinical elements of social work. I am a mother of two young children and I love traveling, music, sports, art, mindfulness, and being outdoors with my husband, kids, and dog. I believe in the importance of caring for the whole person, mind, body, heart and spirit.

I have experience working with people across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, young adults, adults, as well as older adults for a brief time. Although I am not currently certified, I have experience as a certified alcohol and drug counselor and have great passion for recovery work at all stages of change. More recently, my work has been centered around youth, young adults and families navigating various mental health related challenges. I am open to working with a variety of mental health related challenges, yet, I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, stressful life transitions, and addictions.

I take a client centered, holistic approach, meeting people wherever they are and finding a way to connect and understand the challenges that led them to reaching out for support. I understand that vulnerability stems from trust and authenticity can create a space for this. I create a safe space for others to share openly about past and present experiences, positive and challenging. I am passionate about narrative approaches and often use elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. I am trained in EMDR or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, which is a very effective therapeutic approach, particularly for trauma. I tailor my approaches to the individual(s) and appreciate the benefits of arts and crafts, mindfulness, movement, play, writing, music, and most importantly humor as tools for self-expression and processing. Laughter is good for the soul on all levels and I hope to ignite that within us both!
