I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working towards licensure. I was born and raised in Oregon. On my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking with my dogs, kayaking, and walking along the Oregon coast.

I earned my master's degree at Western Oregon University in Vocational Rehabilitation Mental Health Counseling. I have obtained my Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) license. I have worked in many positions where I have provided support to diverse populations. I am passionate about supporting adults and youth through difficult transitions and watching them reach their goals and full potential.

I like to meet my clients where they are at. I borrow from multiple modalities, depending on my client and what works for them. I have experience working with youth, adults, individuals with Developmental Disabilities, ADHD, individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I am trained in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also have experience in vocational counseling, working with individuals who want to overcome barriers to moving towards independence.

My name is Taylor Smith (she/her) and I entered clinical social work because I believe in the power of relationship as a vehicle for growth and healing, and because I also believe it’s important to recognize the systems of power, control, and culture that impact our well being. I strive to be BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ allied and affirming. I value helping individuals find peace and joy in their identity.

Modalities I pull from include: Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Teachers who guide me in this work include Tara Brach, Pixie Lighthorse, Nedra Glover Tawwab, Gabor Mate and my own therapist/healing work. An overarching goal I have for clients I work with is for them to build tolerance for the whole spectrum of emotions and learn to experience them as neutral information, or even as wisdom that leads to informed choice.

Experiences that led me down the path of clinical social work include several years of social justice work in Oregon prisons during my undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon and seven years of advocacy and peer counseling for survivors of gender-based violence. I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Portland State University in 2022 and am currently a Certified Social Work Associate (CSWA) under supervision and working towards licensure. For the past year and a half I worked as a behavioral health consultant in a primary care setting addressing whole person health: mental, emotional, physical and day to day functional well being. I look forward to pulling this wider scope into practice here at Stronger Oregon.

Common labels we put on experiences that might be a good fit for my expertise include: anxiety, stress, trauma, abuse, gender affirming care, grief, attachment wounding, codependency, family members of people with addiction, boundary setting work, and life change/transitions. This is a non-exhaustive list and if my approach seems like a good fit for you, I encourage you to reach out!

I have over 10 years experience working in residential and community settings providing services to youth and their families. I draw from many modalities and adjust based on my client’s needs.

I received my Masters degree in Clinical Counseling from George Fox University in 2013. This new career path came after I had been a foster parent for several years. I have much experience with youth in foster care and their caregivers. I am certified Post Adoption and FosterCare therapist with ORPARC which has given me a strong foundation when working with this population. I also really enjoy working towards reunification goals both with the biological family and the youth as they navigate emotions especially after a long periods in care.

For younger children, I believe their language is play so will often incorporate play therapy techniques in sessions. Parent participation is strongly recommended as young people often struggle with big emotions and don’t know how to express themselves. The best way for me to teach them and incorporate better coping strategies is for them to practice at home as well.

For tweens, teens and young adults I believe developing their voice and autonomy is very important. We will navigate treatment planning and therapy goals collaboratively with parental involvement as necessary. I rely strongly on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT) for this age believing the positive effects in learning distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and mindfulness skills will benefit everyone. DBT is especially effective when treating youth experiencing suicidal ideations or self harm.

I will work with any diagnosis including but not limited to Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I am accepting of all cultures, sexual and gender orientations. I look forward to getting to know you and help you be your best self!

I hold a humanistic perspective, meaning I believe that you are whole, deserving, and perfect at your core. I trust that your inherent intelligence and ability to connect to yourself can be revealed and encouraged through the therapeutic relationship that we will create together. I respect that you are the ultimate authority on your life and experience.

I practice holistic and integral psychology, taking the whole body, mind, and spirit into consideration, bringing a somatic, depth, and transpersonal approach to our work. My practice is integrative: weaving elements of ecopsychology, dreamwork, mindfulness, and body-centered expression. I also find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be effective too. We will pay attention to “where” and “how” feelings and experiences are held within your body, and explore the deeper meanings in your life, as well as the deeper reasons behind your challenges and difficulties. I don't subscribe to the belief that there is something wrong with you, rather "what happened to you".

For therapy to work there needs to be personal accountability. While I work from a compassionate stance in helping you figure out what works for you, my style is very honest and direct, and therefore not for everyone.

I specialize in supporting people who experience chronic illnesses and invisible disabilities, neuro-toxic mental illness, chemical/mold/EMF sensitivities, and narcissistic abuse. I personally am a survivor of Lyme Disease and Mold Illness, and am here to walk this walk with you thanks to having overcome many of my own personal life challenges that has given me the empathy and understanding to be real with you.

Congrats on taking the first step of reaching out for the help you deserve.

As an Indigenous person, I deeply acknowledge that a sense of personal identity is integral for a culturally-informed healing and learning journey. My sessions typically include holistic approaches to well-being, such as grounding based on traditional values and empowerment, using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I use approaches that are evidence-based and allow for specialized therapy based on your values.

My educational background includes a Masters of Arts in Applied Psychological Science at Pacific University, which focused on integrating counseling skills with research, and my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Portland State University. I also completed a six-month clinical internship at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, where I gained knowledge in cultural responsiveness among rural and Indigenous people. Currently, I am a Professional Counselor Associate working toward full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of a clinical supervisor.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort. Ultimately, my goals are your goals, and we'll work together to best meet your needs. If you're ready to talk, I'm here to listen.

My name is Levin Manabat, and I am a BIPOC, Trauma-Focused Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA), currently pursuing certification as a Sex Therapist with AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists). Additionally, in my work as a financial social worker, we can delve into issues surrounding financial anxiety, impulsive spending, exploring triggers related to spending, developing a healthier relationship with money, and various other financial concerns.

Allow me to share a bit about myself. I identify as Filipino, and my personal life journey has provided me with a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences that may resonate with or differ from your own. As a former youth in the foster care system, a member of the LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS community, and an immigrant belonging to a minority group, I possess a deeper understanding of issues such as systemic racism, social stigma, discrimination, marginalization, and oppressive practices.

As part of my own self-care plan, I actively engage in mindfulness skills, meditation, and routinely head to the gym. During my free time, I find joy in traveling and camping with my significant other and our three dogs, exploring various national and state parks.

My counseling style is strengths-based because I enjoy helping others find and explore their strengths.  I value helping clients feel less alone and isolated. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, identity issues, posttraumatic stress, family or relationship problems, dealing with life’s transitions and challenges, or seeking to improve your overall well-being, I can help you develop the strategies, skills, and insight to do so.

I offer individual, couples, adolescent, couples, and family therapy.  I use a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approach to help others overcome beliefs that are interfering with reaching goals or attaining personal happiness.  I also teach clients how to calm anxiety and other psychiatric symptoms by practicing mindfulness using MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) and learning to use acceptance as a coping skill.  I also incorporate elements of DBT (emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance) into my practice to help individuals learn to manage emotions and tolerate distress in a healthy way.

I will support you in realizing your true potential with kindness and compassion.  You can create your life the way you want it to be, and I would love to be your companion on this magnificent journey! I am a telehealth therapist in Oregon currently and offering sessions through a secure video portal.  Video sessions are convenient, effective, and empowering!
