I believe that we all have the ability to change our lives to reach our highest potential and sometimes we need help along the way. I see my role in the counseling relationship as a collaboration for you and I to work together for the goals that you would like to achieve.

The counseling approach I feel most connected with are Person-Centered and Humanistic Approach which means that together, with unconditional positive regard, authenticity and without judgement, we can strive to get you where you would like to be in your life.

I earned a MS Degree in Counseling from Portland State University in 2018. I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University. Prior to my degree, I worked with children and adults in a variety of settings such as a Professional School Counselor, adult relationship coach and an elementary school para-educator.

Fun facts: I love cats ALOT! I also enjoy Thai food, camping and being near water.

My goal as your therapist is to provide a safe, empathetic space for you to express your thoughts and emotions as we work together, exploring your goals and finding new paths to meet the challenges in your life.

No one type of therapy works with every person or issue. My integrative approach is tailored for your specific needs.  I have a strength based, person centered approach to therapy which is trauma informed and incorporates relational and psycho-dynamic therapy as well as aspects of cognitive therapy and mindfulness-based techniques. I also provide EMDR therapy for clients who are struggling with past or current trauma issues.

I hold a master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. My professional counseling experience and training includes working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, trauma and crisis counseling, and emotionally focused therapy.  I have had the opportunity to provide support to individuals in all stages of life, from college students to senior adults experiencing anxiety, depression, work stress and relationship issues and life transitions.

My name is Ira, and I am a counseling associate working towards licensure. I grew up in Eugene Oregon and have been in Portland for the past 13 years. I enjoy reading and learning, and spending quality time with family and friends.

I believe that by exploring our thoughts, feelings, and past experiences we can come to a better understanding of ourselves, and learn new ways to care for ourselves and others.

I've worked several years as a drug and alcohol counselor (CADC II) prior to becoming a mental health counseling associate, and have learned to use a variety of compassionate, person-centered counseling approaches including motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy, emotion focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I've used a trauma-informed lens to support clients struggling with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, anger problems, trauma responses, personality disorders, and environmental stressors.

My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Applied Psychological Sciences from Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lewis and Clark College.  My work involves an emphasis on integrating neuroscience alongside self-compassion to help create desired changes for yourself through the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with a trauma-informed lens. As a certified yoga instructor, I use my understanding of the connection between the brain and the body to help individuals develop a greater understanding of themselves in a way that is founded upon empathy and kindness.

If you find yourself contending with problems relating to anxiety, depression, processing trauma, stress, grief, relational dynamics, or self-worth, therapy can offer a space of safety and support to process your experiences. I am here to help you explore and work through symptoms that are creating a barrier between you and the life you desire that is based on what is most important to you. My work revolves around fostering a space for you to be fully heard, seen, and understood; as well as hold value to your experiences of what it is like to be you.  We then work together to find helpful ways to interact with your symptoms, identify the version of your life that feels most aligned with who you are, and ultimately how we can help you get there.

I believe that in my work, you and I are a team with the same goal of helping you create and move toward a life based on your values.  If you are ready to start your journey, I would love the opportunity to join you!

My practice is one of acceptance. My space is a judgement free zone. I am a licensed therapist, driven by a passion for assisting individuals, families, and intimate partners with diverse needs. Regardless of what your needs are, I will always consider how all of the relationships in your life are contributing to the reason you called.

I am gentle - but I am also direct. I am empathetic - but I will also challenge you. I am professional - but I am also relaxed and approachable. I welcome humor into the therapeutic space, recognizing that sometimes a touch of humor is exactly what we need to alleviate anxiety, foster authentic connections, and even gain perspective at times.

I work with individual adults and couples (ages 18 and up) looking to restore balance in their lives. I specialize in relationship issues, women’s issues, family conflict, and marital counseling. I am honored to work with individuals of any gender expression, sexual orientation, relationship model, race, culture, religion, age, size and disability. I am a sex-positive therapist working from an antiracist, intersectional, trauma-informed perspective.

Together, we will determine your goals and develop a collaborative and customized treatment plan.

My style is empathetic and direct within a professional and non-judgmental atmosphere. I want to help you to heal from what is holding you back and help you find peace. Together, we will celebrate your successes and achievements along the way

Being a person is hard. Managing demands of work or school, relationships, family, life changes, and finances all while trying to take care of your heart, mind, body, and soul can feel impossible. It's even harder when you constantly feel anxious, overstimulated, or down and depressed with little relief. On top of this, we often carry the unhelpful narratives from past experiences with us through our daily life. If you resonate with any of these challenges, you are not alone, and I am hopeful there are options to help you feel better.

My name is Grace and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked in the mental health field since 2017, and obtained my Master of Social Work from George Fox University in 2019 where I received a blend of clinical and social justice focused education. Since then, I have been providing mental health therapy for adults with a wide range of mental health challenges. I currently specialize in supporting individuals who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, and life changes, as well as compassion fatigue and burnout related to helping professions.

I provide a safe space for clients to process experiences of both the past and present that impact well-being. I am passionate about biopsychosocial-spiritual health. My approach is strengths-based, culturally-sensitive, intersectional, and trauma-informed. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based tools related to mindfulness, acceptance, and nervous system regulation in my practice. I am also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is different than talk-therapy and is most well-known for the treatment of PTSD, though it can also be used for a variety of other mental health problems.

I know starting therapy is vulnerable and can be a difficult process. I also acknowledge it usually takes time to build trust! Rest assured that I will meet you with compassion and empathy, no matter what your story is. Please call our office or fill out the form below if you would like to schedule an appointment with me. I look forward to meeting you!

I started my career as a teacher in at risk rural county schools in Virginia. I eventually became a teacher for Outward Bound, a wilderness therapy alternative school for adjudicated males age 14 to 17 yo. It was this experience that inspired me to pursue a career in wilderness therapy, eventually earning her Master's in Clinical Mental Health counseling at Lamar University.

My background and past clinical experience includes working in wilderness therapy, residential programs and Child Advocacy Centers in Utah, North Carolina and Oregon with at risk youth. I have worked with diverse populations, utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions and creative methods to meet the needs of those with whom I have worked. Through use of my gifts, knowledge, and experience, I seek to empower and motivate you to overcome issues, explore and implement healthy choices, and ultimately, to live your best life.

I am trained in EMDR, an intervention for processing and deactivating trauma, and in Neuroaffective Relational Therapy. I use a variety of other modalities, including CBT, ACT, body-centered psychotherapy, and Polyvagal therapy.

I have a passion for supporting individuals on their journey of healing. I utilize sensorimotor, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help unlock the trapped memories that are leading to distress in an individual’s life to help them live in the present moment.

I see my role as helping you hear yourself, rediscover your truths, and expand your choices on your path to greater fulfillment and serenity.
