I am interested in helping people overcome the obstacles that get in the way of their mental and emotional health. I have been assisting youth, families, and adults in this pursuit for the last 20 years.

I have experience doing counseling and casework in many settings which include residential treatment, schools, county agencies, and most recently community mental health. I use a broad spectrum of therapeutic tools to support client's where they are at in their journey.

Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing provide the general framework for my work with people.

I graduated from San Francisco State University with my Master's in Social Work in 2011 and have been licensed as an LCSW for the last 5 years. I believe the foundation of therapeutic work rests in a strong, caring, mutual connection.

I would appreciate the opportunity to build that connection and work on the goals and objectives you have for living a more fulfilling life with less emotional distress.

I believe that recovery is accomplished through self acceptance, healing of past trauma, and the exploration and development of meaning and purpose in your life. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-driven, and I am trained in multiple evidence based practices, which can be utilized in an eclectic approach to tailor each participant's treatment to their own experience and preferences.

I completed two Master’s degree programs at Ottawa University, one in Professional Counseling and one in Substance Abuse Counseling. I completed EMDR training through the EMDR Institute, Inc. in July 2016. I completed the requirements to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in August of 2020.

I have been a licensed therapist for 12 years, and my work initially focused on treating clients struggling with substance abuse, then shifted to working with clients experiencing SMI, and then moved to working in group practice settings with clients from all walks of life.

I remember how mad I was the first time I was “sent” to therapy, as a teenager, to get “fixed”. I refused to speak to the stranger behind the desk and waited out my hour as I stared him down. Needless to say, it wasn’t very therapeutic.

My goal as your therapist is to meet you right where you are today, regardless of where that is, and to help you get where you want to be. I believe it is important to help others find their purpose, develop competence, and grow with integrity into the person that they are meant to be. Therapy is a partnership that requires engagement and action in order for change to take place. If you’re ready for change, I’m ready to support you!

History is important to learn from, but getting stuck in the past can be depressing. The future is also important; however, if we worry about it too much, we get anxious. It’s important to live in the present and figure out tools and strategies that make life, not only bearable, but fulfilling!

I am a native Oregonian who is grateful for this beautiful state and all the wonderful people I’ve had the opportunity to work with! My counseling journey started with a yearning to understand family dynamics which led me to a Psychology: Family Studies degree from Corban University in 2008. Between working and parenting full-time, I received my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2014.

I take a person-centered approach that is genuine, empathic, and that sees people in a positive light doing the best that they can. I view clients from a system’s perspective and use a variety of interventions drawing from, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy.

I look forward to meeting you!

My therapy office is one in which you can be free to bring your whole self, where you can explore all of your being in a warm, judgement-free environment. I believe that every person has the capacity to approach life in a whole-hearted and joyful way, and together, we will discover how you may do so for yourself.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Boston College in 2015, and received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Austin, in 2021. In the interim, I worked with teenagers in wilderness therapy, where I learned about the power that nature has to make us fully present to our lives. I have also worked in children’s homes where I built trusting relationships with children in foster care.

My primary orientation is person-centered, meaning that I believe that you hold the key to wholeness within yourself, and that our relationship will be a tool that allows you to access and cultivate that wholeness. I employ Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Positive Psychology, but rather than sticking to a single framework will spontaneously bring to the sessions whatever resonates most with you. Working with children, I utilize play and art therapy to teach self-knowledge and emotional regulation. I look forward to taking this journey with you!

Kayla Boyd, Professional Counselor Associate

Hello! My name is Kayla and I am a Professional Counselor Associate working towards my professional licensure. I quite literally like long walks on the beach, chasing waterfalls and getting lost in nature, in the stars and in a good book. Getting lost in nature and books and the stories they possess helps ground me and remind me of my purpose, my story and the bright spots around me and I hope to spread some of that light to others who may need it for writing and finding their own stories.

I believe that every individual has the ability to grow, change and live a life that they are not only proud of, but a life that they feel safe in and in charge of. I believe that everyone is full of potential and has resiliency to overcome the hard and difficult things that life throws their way. I also believe that people should not have to go through these things alone. I want to offer that safe place where people can come and know that they have someone on their team and someone who will be there to sit with them in the dark times as well as the happy ones.

I tend to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness as well as enjoy using Narrative and Expressive arts. I do use a multi-modal approach because I believe that there is no “cookie cutter” approach to counseling, that not every person can fit into one specific approach, but instead that there is an approach for every person. I aim to work with my clients at their level and with an approach/s that is best suited for them and their needs. Meeting my clients where they are at is an important foundation to the work that I do. Whether you need gentleness and guidance, someone who will challenge you and be direct or a mixture of both, we can adjust to your needs to help you feel more safe and in charge of you.

I attended Oregon State University and graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Public Health in June 2017. I took a year off to work with Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a 24 hour Residential setting and continued that work there through my graduate school career. In 2018, I then went on to pursue my Masters of Arts degree with a focus on Mental Health Counseling and graduated in May 2022. During the final year of my degree (May 2021-May 2022) I worked as a Child and Family Therapist-Intern at Trillium Family Services-Children’s Farm gaining experience in Individual, Family and Group counseling with Adolescents 12-17 years old in a residential secure adolescent inpatient psychiatric facility. I continued my time at the Children's Farm Home after graduation as a full-time Child and Family Therapist until January 2024.

I have experience working with teens with severe depression, anxiety, impulse control, mood instability, ADHD, PTSD, family relational issues, psychosis, attachment issues, self-esteem issues and behavioral/anger/violent outbursts. I have had a passion for working with these small humans and transitional age youth. However, not a teen?? Don’t worry! There is an inner child and teen in all of us that still needs nurtured and cared for. Skills used with children and teens transfer to adults as well and I am excited to help adults through life's ups and downs as well. Life is a journey and I am honored to help be a part of bringing you back to you.

Hello, my name is Lindsey Burke. I am a passionate clinician who is honored to walk alongside people in their healing journey. Life is challenging and messy, and you don’t need to do it alone.

I have my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University and I am currently an MFT and LPC. I specialize working with teens and young adults, primarily working on issues with foster care/adoption, attachment issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity issues. That said, I love all humans and am willing to work with anyone who is willing to do the hard work, because that’s what therapy is.

I take a very relational approach, empowering my clients to realize that they are the expert in their own life, and they have the ability to grow, heal, and choose different patterns— with the help and support they need.

I have a lot of experience working with individuals in the foster care system and working in residential treatment centers for individuals with mental health and addiction issues. My promise is to come, listen, learn and stand by your side; my request is for you to come with openness, honesty, and curiosity.

Together, I believe we can help you get to where you want to be.

I also have a very cute therapy dog named Bear :)
