I earned a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada-Reno. I am a Clinical Social Work Associate and have over 10 years of experience working with people of all ages struggling with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, phobias, life changes, domestic violence, PTSD, compassion fatigue/burnout and anger. My passion is working with those living with chronic illnesses, as well as caregivers, with a focus on wellness and developing coping skills that are sustainable for long term use. My years of experience in medical social work, chronic care management, and dialysis have given me a unique perspective and expertise in the emotional and physical adjustments associated with health changes. My style is down to earth, relaxed, supportive and compassionate. Treatment is evidenced based, using a strength based and person-centered approach. Modalities such as Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Art/Play Therapy are examples of some of the modalities used and are individualized to each person. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort and look forward to speaking with you.

I believe all humans have the capacity for self-healing and utilize a holistic and collaborative counseling approach to facilitate this process. I am passionate about offering an empowering, mindful, and authentic space that supports the unique needs of individuals while honoring their journey toward optimal well-being.

I employ an eclectic approach that weaves together several therapeutic modalities to best serve the unique needs of each client. My style is based primarily in Person-Centered Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts Work, CBT, and Mindfulness. Depending on what is happening in your life, we can work together to tailor our time to best address your specific concerns in ways that feel right to you.

My background as a yoga and meditation teacher laid a strong foundation in attending to the complexities of the human experience in the physical, mental and emotional realms. I then brought my mind-body oriented practice into my higher education. I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Science from Oregon State University Cascades and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Bastyr University. I have completed further training in IFS, EMDR, Trauma specific care, and Buddhist Psychology, along with ongoing education in Mindfulness. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, and eating disorders.

Therapy is not a linear process and can include ups and downs. Taking the step of self-exploration takes immense courage. While I will serve as a guide for you in reaching your goals, ultimately it is always up to you how much effort you wish to put into therapy to achieve your desired results. My intention is to create a safe and nourishing environment for you to build self-efficacy, make meaning in your life, and connect to your true self.

When life feels overwhelming, when sharks are circling your vessel with teeth bigger than your engine, you’ll need to upgrade to a bigger boat – that is, a bigger toolbox. You need more resources, more support, more skills. We’ve all been there. The cool thing is, once we build this bigger boat – toolbox – it will serve us the rest of our days. Once you have those skills, nothing can take them away.

In my work, I draw from a number of modalities and practices, but my primary approach is called ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). To me, ACT is about freedom. Freedom from the destructive thoughts that hold you back. Freedom from enslavement to painful emotions and the frantic efforts to make them stop. It’s about not feeling like a prisoner in your own head. Since receiving my Master of Social Work degree in 2007, I’ve spent much of my career working with people living with acute and chronic illness, particularly cancer. My life’s work is helping people adjust to difficult life changes, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and other challenges. I have a special place in my heart for women transitioning to motherhood and the post-partum issues that so often arise, and individuals facing the ongoing challenges of parenting. I love the expressive arts and using poetry therapy (which sounds stuffy and boring but isn’t) to help clients find their own voice. I am open to working with adults of all ages, teens, and families. LGBTQ+ clients welcomed and valued.

My approach is grounded in compassion. It is about finding your own strengths and bolstering them with new skills to spark real and lasting change. I believe in kindness, humor, and connection, and I believe there is hidden treasure in everyone. Struggle is part of life, but struggle shouldn’t drive the bus, leaving us flailing around with no lap belt and gum stuck to our seats. You deserve to be the driver of your life, and you can build a boat stronger than the sharks. If you’re here, you’ve already started!

I’m an Oregon native who enjoys getting outside and moving. The water is where I find my peace, whether it be watching the waves crash on the shore at the Oregon Coast or paddleboarding.

I’ve worked in a variety of settings including high schools, Telehealth, in person and community-based services. I’ve worked with marginalized populations including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, teens and young adults experiencing first episode psychosis, trauma, anxiety, paranoia, OCD, intrusive thoughts, suicide ideation and depression.

Being a teen and transitioning into adulthood into our twenties can seem overwhelming. I’m passionate about positively impacting my clients by providing support to meet their goals. I look for ways to improve mental health and remove barriers with a client centered trauma informed approach. I’ll help you discover the strengths and the power you hold to make positive changes that feel best for you. Therapy can be hard, but it can also be fun and transformative. I strive to make therapy a place you look forward to coming to and using our time together to explore more about yourself. I’ll help you discover the joy in life you may be missing or process hard life events and move forward.

I use a variety of different modalities to help guide clients in effective psychotherapy exercises. I’m passionate about helping those I work with and I strive to continue learning and educating myself to best support my clients.

Welcome, my name is Sydni and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked within the mental health field in some capacity since 2012. I obtained a bachelor's degree at Southern Oregon University in criminal justice and went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work at Portland State University, immersing myself in the clinical elements of social work. I am a mother of two young children and I love traveling, music, sports, art, mindfulness, and being outdoors with my husband, kids, and dog. I believe in the importance of caring for the whole person, mind, body, heart and spirit.

I have experience working with people across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, young adults, adults, as well as older adults for a brief time. Although I am not currently certified, I have experience as a certified alcohol and drug counselor and have great passion for recovery work at all stages of change. More recently, my work has been centered around youth, young adults and families navigating various mental health related challenges. I am open to working with a variety of mental health related challenges, yet, I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, stressful life transitions, and addictions.

I take a client centered, holistic approach, meeting people wherever they are and finding a way to connect and understand the challenges that led them to reaching out for support. I understand that vulnerability stems from trust and authenticity can create a space for this. I create a safe space for others to share openly about past and present experiences, positive and challenging. I am passionate about narrative approaches and often use elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. I am trained in EMDR or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, which is a very effective therapeutic approach, particularly for trauma. I tailor my approaches to the individual(s) and appreciate the benefits of arts and crafts, mindfulness, movement, play, writing, music, and most importantly humor as tools for self-expression and processing. Laughter is good for the soul on all levels and I hope to ignite that within us both!

My name is Kate (she/her), I’m a social work associate working towards my clinical licensure. I moved to Oregon from Wisconsin about a year ago, and can safely say it’s quite the upgrade! I’ve lived across the country in major cities and small towns alike, and I once even lived in Western Australia. I enjoy gardening, getting lost in a good book, biking, stand-up/improv comedy and spending time with loved ones.

The therapeutic modalities I commonly use are Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, utilizing trauma-informed approaches as needed, and I also pull evidence-based practices from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am a proponent of Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Existential Therapy, as well as Internal Family Systems and am continuing to build my knowledge in these areas.

I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside in 2018 and earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 2020.

Some diagnoses I've commonly worked with are PTSD/C-PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD. I've also worked with people experiencing death & dying and grief. Lastly, I have ample experience regarding childhood development.

I began my social work career in 2006 working with people who were experiencing homelessness and the local inner-city youth in Los Angeles. Since, I’ve tutored and mentored youth, and have worked as a substitute teacher. I was also an ABA therapist for children on the spectrum. After receiving my graduate degree, I was an in-home therapist and case manager for clients of all backgrounds and ages. More recently, I was a hospice medical social worker providing brief grief counseling and connecting families with community resources.

Overall, I seek to provide a safe and attuned space for clients, where they feel seen and heard. I also desire to come alongside my clients as they seek peace, clarity, understanding, and ultimately healing. I approach sessions with a strengths-based perspective, seeking what can be resolved, and providing support and resourcing where needed. I look forward to working with you!
